ORGANISER’S COMMENTS

My desire as organiser was to make sure you as competitor had everything you needed from the moment you started to follow the travel directions to the point you pulled away from the car park, that made you feel as relaxed as possible before taking part in a championship race. The choice of having a warm building for the results and simple prize giving was high on my list and I hope that trying to keep “instant” visibility of your result (was for the most part) well received. It certainly meant you could very quickly decide if you needed to run off to a corner to hide.

A big thank-you must go out on your behalf I think to the many members of the club who put in many hours standing at the start/finish area, worked to make sure you were successfully parked or handled your results processing. A number of the runners do not run at night, so I really appreciated their support in giving up a Saturday afternoon and evening.

Controllers Comments

From the overheard comments at assembly it would appear that competitors had a challenging experience at Mytchett in the dark. Paul had set 'no compromise' courses in keeping with the standard that might be expected for a National Championships.  As you will realise Southern Navigators  can organise most things but not the motions of the sun and stars hence the only organisational glitch of the sun not setting quickly enough which in turn resulted in race time being delayed by 30 minutes. My thanks go to all the officials for their work before and during the event to make it a success.
