Southern Navigators (SN) welcomes new members of all ages, from complete beginners through to experienced orienteers. The club is affiliated to British Orienteering, the sport’s national governing body, and you join the club via British Orienteering (see below for details). You don't need to be a club member to try orienteering. All local events, and some regional and national events, offer entry on the day (EOD) courses suitable for novices. Look for the enquiries/information point at the event and someone there will be only too willing to help you.

* Juniors - under 20 on 1st Jan of the membership year, or full-time student.
** Family - 1 or 2 adults and any juniors all living at the same address.
*** Group - Schools, Scout Groups, Cadets etc. may join SN as a Group so that their junior members can participate at SN local events without needing to join the club individually.

If you join British Orienteering and/or SN as a new member after the 1st September your membership will last until the 31st December the following year. Membership renewals are normally due on 1st January each year.

National or Local British Orienteering Membership You can join online or by post by following the instructions on the British Orienteering web site. Click on ‘Join Now’, and then select ‘SN’ from the drop-down list as your chosen club. You can choose to join either the South Central (SCOA) or South East (SEOA) regional association. (This is significant if you are joining as a Local member because it determines which region’s events qualify for your entry fee discount.) If you choose to join us via British Orienteering, please also send an e-mail to the Membership Secretary so we know (it can take several weeks before we get the next membership return from the national office), and we can add you to the club distribution list.
