SN Saturday Series

These events are ideally suited to beginners, juniors and family groups who want to try orienteering or move up from school to forest orienteering.

Pre-enter as in the entry details section below. If you don’t have a “dibber” (the electronic timing device) leave that part of the entry details blank – you will be allocated one to pick up at the Enquiries tent at the event. You will also pick up your map at the event – at the start.

If you are new to this sport, please select the Yellow or Orange course. Most families start with a “Yellow” level course which is about 2.5km long and will take around 30-45 minutes.

You don’t need any special equipment – come dressed to run or walk, with full leg covering.

Entry

Starts are open 10.00 -11.30am. Please choose a start time to ensure you can finish before the courses close at 12.30pm. Start times have been added to your sign up to prevent long queues at the start. However, these are advisory only. We won’t be checking!

Safety and Risk

A comprehensive risk assessment will have been carried out by the organiser. Competitors are responsible for their own personal safety and for assessing their own abilities to complete the course. Neither Southern Navigators, the landowner or British Orienteering can be held liable for any accident or other incident arising while undertaking the event. Participants take part at their own risk and are responsible for their own safety during the event – including clothing appropriate for the conditions, and if required, a means of summoning assistance (e.g. phone or whistle).
After forest orienteering, please check thoroughly for ticks and remove immediately if you find them. Lyme Disease is on the increase in the South East!

Insurance: All participants are covered by the British Orienteering third-party liability insurance policy. (NB: This is not a personal injury policy).

Refund Policy

If you are unable to attend the event, and withdraw your entry before the advertised early entry closing date, please contact events@southernnavigators.com for a refund. Either a full credit can be applied to your Racesignup account for use against future SN events, or a cash refund of your entry fee minus entry processing costs can be given.
The above policy will also be applied if the event has limited entry and you withdraw after early entry has closed AND your entry can be re-sold to another competitor.
In any other case, refunds or credits will not be given except under exceptional circumstances, and only at the club’s discretion.
